Who they are. First Ascent began as a cafe in an old miner's cabin on Crested Butte's Elk Avenue. The owners got tired of hauling whole beans, grinders and a French press into the mountains, so they went looking for a better way. They've since closed the cafe and focus strictly on instant coffee, buying through importers that offer transparency and traceability.
